"Here is a picture of Lacey at 8 months old. She is a short haired Havanese. We didn't know that she was a short hair until she was about 4 months old. When I researched the breed I found that there was a genetic flaw with the short haired. I'm not sure why the short hair is a fault. I'd like to let other Havanese owners know that having a short hair Havanese is not a bad thing. Do not discard the short hair because of breed standard. Lacey is a beautiful little girl. She is loving and funny. I love her with all of my heart and I never would return her to the breeder just because she is short haired. Minimal grooming is a big benefit in my opinion. Her face stays so clean, unlike our long haired. I just need to trim the hair around her feet. She loves her walks and struts around with her head and tail held high. We also have a long haired Havanese named Jake. He is a ball of energy. Both of them have fabulous temperaments. They are so loving and cuddly."
